actions of the week
Well, here we are (deep, deep sigh).
We’re all feeling it.
My internal weather patterns this week have quickly shifted from: frozen to windless to unseasonably foggy to a fiery buildup craving escape.
All I know is that when things get bad, I move into action, and rest in between.
Act, then go for a scream drive.
Act, then make pancakes for dinner.
Act, then google “can you bring your dog to Ireland?”
Ibram X. Kendi recently posted: “The best way to protect ourselves from what’s to come is for us to construct what’s to come.”
I’ve been on the fence about what to write about each week, if I should even still do a newsletter, and now, the answer is crystal clear:
Yes, filled with Actions of the Week.
So, here’s the first of many more to come. Pick one thing to do, or ten. Save it for when you feel the fire burning inside.
And in the meantime, take good care of yourself and the people in your life.
xx Caitlin

Finally, read this poem written by a local poet in Sebastopol, California:
Rise and Fall
by Larry Robinson
Let go of fear
and rest in that which is.
For peace, like love,
comes to those who allow it.
Let go of fear
and rest in stillness.
Watch the breath rise...
and fall.
Watch the tide rise...
and fall.
Watch towers rise...
and fall.
Watch walls rise...
and fall.
Watch statues rise...
and fall.
Watch empires rise...
and fall.
Watch the breath rise...
and fall.
Let go of fear
and rest in the arms
of the One
who has always held you,
the One who holds
atoms and empires
and oceans and stars.
Let go of fear
and watch what happens next.
